Prime Minister and president-elect Vladimir Putin has a development plan for the country, Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a televised interview on Saturday.
Putin, who served two terms in the Kremlin in 2000-2008, won the election last Sunday with 63.6 percent of the vote and is set to begin his third presidential term on May 7.
“The first [presidential] term was resuscitation of the country, the second term was rehabilitation, and now begins physical and spiritual development of the country, its economy and its every single region,” Peskov said in an interview to state-owned Channel One.
“This renewing Putin, he’s not coming to sit down and say at some point, ‘What are we going to do now?’ He knows well exactly where he’s going, what and when he is going to do and with whom is he going to do it,” Peskov said.
