FC Krasnodar stretched their lead in the Russian Premier League's relegation group to nine points with a hard-fought 2-1 win at FC Volga on Saturday.
Defender Alexander Martynovich gave the visitors the points when his unchallenged header sneaked into the corner of Mikhail Kerzhakov's goal on 69 minutes.
Yura Movsisyan put Krasnodar ahead with a placed 49th-minute penalty after Pavel Golyshev was fouled in the box. The hosts took just four minutes to respond, as Krasnodar goalkeeper Nukri Revishvili fumbled Shota Bibilov's shot into the net.
Krasnodar stay top of the Premier League's relegation group, moving to 48 points, nine clear of FC Rostov.
Terek Grozny, third in the group, play Rostov later Saturday.
