The Russian Premier League's bottom club FC Tom Tomsk earned a creditable 0-0 draw at Amkar Perm on Sunday, closing the gap to Spartak Nalchik to just two points.
Tomsk followed up last week's first win in 17 matches with a point at snowy Amkar, who remain fourth in the league's relegation group on 38 points.
Tomsk have 25, two short of Nalchik, who travel to Krylya Sovetov later Sunday.
Early chances were missed by Amkar's Alexander Kolomeitsev and Tomsk's Anton Khazon, who smashed a shot over, while Amkar's Vitaly Grishin squandered the best chance of the second half, firing wide on 74 minutes.
Also Sunday, Dan Petrescu's Kuban host Rubin Kazan and Lokomotiv Moscow play Guus Hiddink's Anzhi.
