Second-half substitute Yakovlev, who is on loan from Spartak Moscow, struck from the edge of the penalty area with his back to goal after the ball pinballed around the box just after half time.

Krylya leave the bottom three with the win, leapfrogging FC Volga, who lost 2-1 at home to Krasnodar on Saturday.

Nalchik's third-straight defeat leaves them just two perilous points above bottom side FC Tom Tomsk after the Siberians earned a creditable 0-0 away draw at Amkar Perm earlier Sunday.

In other results Sunday, Lokomotiv Moscow consigned Guus Hiddink to his first defeat as Anzhi manager Sunday, with Denis Glushakov's second-half strike sealing the points for the hosts with a 1-0 win.

Dan Petrescu's Kuban beat Rubin Kazan by the same scoreline thanks to a Marcos Pizzelli strike for their first home win since September.

Terek Grozny also won 1-0, over FC Rostov, courtesy of a second-half strike from Shamil Asildarov, continuing a mini-revival that saw the Chechen side pull away from relegation zone.

Zenit St. Petersburg thrashed Dynamo Moscow 5-1 away on Friday in the first match of the round to extend their lead at the top to nine points over CSKA Moscow.

CSKA have the have the chance to restore the gap to six when they travel to Spartak Moscow on Monday.
