As is tradition, the event began with a show featuring a collection by Vyacheslav Zaitsev, who is celebrating the 50th anniversary of his career. Photo: A model on the runway at the Vyacheslav Zaitsev show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia.
On Day 1, Irina Khakamada and Lena Makashova presented the KhakaMa collection. Photo: Models walk the runway wearing designs from the KhakaMa collection.
The program of Day 2 included a fashion show by Dasha Gauser, one of the week’s most anticipated events. The theme of the Vera collection centers on the “Russian superwoman” living in harmony with nature and able to summon up all her latent strength, the designer says.
The transparent and lightweight dresses, worn by models, seamlessly fit with different colored and rhinestone decorated quilted jackets, a typical item of Russian clothing that Gauser turned into an efficient accompaniment for a dress.
The fashion show I Love Fashion by French-based broadcaster Fashion TV featured Anna Chapman, who walked the runway wearing skin-tight jeans and a leather jacket.
Among those who showcased their fall/winter 2012/13 collections at Fashion Week Russia were the UK-based fashion design duo Basso & Brooke. The designers believe that the fall/winter season is the time to wear bright colored clothing with unconventional prints and patterns.
The models showcasing items from the collection by Yegor Zaitsev looked like futuristic characters from one of Tim Burton’s movies. This time, Zaitsev has used his favorite element, tentacles, for scarf and bow designs.
