Chechen sports minister Khaidar Alkhanov has been banned from attending Terek Gronzy's next four Russian Premier League games for shouting abuse at a match official, the Russian Football Union said Wednesday.
Alkhanov, who is also the club's vice-president, made the remarks during the Chechen club’s 3-1 defeat to FC Volga on Sunday, the union said, and will also receive a $3,400 fine.
The Russian Football Union cited “the abusive conduct of vice-president Kh. M. Alkhanov in relation to a match official.”
Alkhanov was involved in organizing an exhibition match between veteran Brazilian players and a Chechen team led by the region’s leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, last year.
