A ten-part political discussion program hosted by the founder of the whistleblowing website WikiLeaks, Julian Assange, begins on Russia Today television on Tuesday, April 17, the channel said on Friday.

“The program ‘The World Tomorrow’ will be simultaneously broadcast on three RT channels, in English, Arab and Spanish languages,” RT said in a statement, adding that the timeline for the premiere will be “15:30 Moscow time, 11:30 GMT, 7:30 a.m. in New York and 21:30 in Sydney.”

Each half-hour installment of “The World Tomorrow” will feature guests being interviewed by Assange, who gained global notoriety after WikiLeaks published thousands of classified U.S. documents beginning in 2010.

“First of all, being under house arrest for so long, it’s nice to have an occasional visitor and to learn more about the world. And given that the conversations we were having are quite interesting, why not film them and show other people what was going on,” the statement quoted Assange as saying.

The first episode of the program on February 17th coincides with the 500th day of the financial blockade on WikiLeaks.

“The World Tomorrow” is filmed in London, where Assange has already spent 493 days under house-arrest while he battles an extradition request from Sweden, where he faces charges he sexually abused two women.

Swedish police issued an international arrest warrant for Assange in November 2010. He was arrested in London in December and released on bail a few days later.

Assange has denied the accusations against him and described the case as politically motivated.
