The really unique Presidential (Kremlin) Regiment accomplishes a number of specific combat objectives and facilitates the security of top state leaders. Its soldiers also guard Kremlin valuables.
The regiment is part of the Federal Body Guards Service, has secret service status and is subordinated directly to the President of Russia and Commander in Chief of the national Armed Forces.
The change of the guard ceremony is held during the warm season every Saturday in the Kremlin from mid-April through late October. The ceremony involves a special guard of honor company and the Presidential Regiment’s honorary cavalry escort.
