The Russian Football Union's disciplinary committee on Wednesday rescinded the red card shown to Amkar Perm's Mitar Novakovic during Saturdays 2-1 defeat to Krylya Sovetov.
In a clear case of mistaken identity, the Montenegrin defender was shown a second yellow card by referee Igor Fedotov after a foul committed by midfielder Artur Ryabokobylenko.
"All the circumstances of the case were carefully studied. The yellow card and the resulting disqualification of Novakovic were revoked by the control-disciplinary committee," said the body's chief, Vladimir Katkov.
The foul led to a 74th-minute penalty that was missed by Krylya striker Sergei Kornilenko.
