At least 43 people were killed on Friday in eastern Mexico when a truck collided with a bus carrying farmers to work in the fields, local authorities said.
Earlier reports said 30 people were killed and 20 injured in the accident.
The tragedy occurred on Friday morning on a winding stretch of highway in the Gulf coast state of Veracruz.
According to authorities, a truck trailer came loose throwing the vehicle in the opposite lane where it hit a passenger bus.
The injured victims were transported to a small hospital in a nearby town, but many of them require better medical facilities for treatment.
Veracruz Governor Javier Duarte has offered help to the survived victims and said all expenses related to transportation of bodies to their burial places would be paid from the state budget.
