Russia would like to see more participants from Asia in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2012, an Economic Development Ministry official said on Wednesday.
“In recent years we’ve been seeing more interest in the forum on the part of Asian countries and we would like to preserve this trend,” Sergei Belyakov, head of the ministry’s investment policy department, said.
“We would like to see more guests from Asia at the forum.”
“Investors often do not see the opportunities that Russia offers. That is not their fault but ours,” he said.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will be held on June 21-23, 2012. Vladimir Putin is expected to give a speech.
