Maria Sharapova likes to dance, but “never sober” and “not in public”, the Russian tennis star said Thursday.
Sharapova has a reputation as one of the most glamorous players on the circuit, with her own range of tennis dresses and a record of appearing at showbiz events such as the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
“Oh yes, who doesn't like to dance!” Sharapova said when asked whether she enjoyed dancing during a webchat with fans organized by the Stuttgart Grand Prix tournament.
“Not in public of course... and never sober... that would be wrong!” she added.
Sharapova is engaged to marry NBA basketball player Sasha Vujacic.
The Russian will face Australia’s Samantha Stosur in the quarterfinals at Stuttgart on Friday after beating French qualifier Alize Cornet in the second round.
