The Russian women’s basketball team will play Britain, Australia and Brazil in the group stage of London Summer Olympics, FIBA website reported on Monday.
Russia has been drawn in Group A, which will reach its full complement of six teams when two sides qualify at a tournament in Ankara, Turkey that runs from June 25 through July 1.
The other group includes USA, China, Angola with three more places to be played for in Ankara.
The Russian men’s will have to play one of three remaining Olympic spots at a similar tournament in Caracas, Venezuela from July 12 through 8, where they will face teams including the Dominican Republic and South Korea.
If the Russians qualify they will enter either Group A with the United States, France, Argentina and Tunisia, or Group B, which boasts Spain, Australia, Brazil, China and Great Britain.
