Lokomotiv Moscow goalkeeper Guilherme has been ruled out for the last two Russian Premier League games of the season after damaging a muscle in his leg, Lokomotiv coach Jose Couceiro has said.
Guilherme was taken off injured after 66 minutes of Lokomotiv’s 3-0 home defeat to CSKA Moscow on Wednesday, and other problems affected striker Felipe Caicedo and midfielder Renat Yanbaev, Couceiro said.
His injury dents Lokomotiv’s hopes of a place in next season’s Europa League, with the Railwaymen in sixth place, two points behind fifth-placed Anzhi in the final European spot.
“It’s a muscle injury. He’ll miss the next two matches,” Couceiro said Wednesday. He refused to say whether regular substitute goalkeeper Alexander Filtsov would replace Guilherme.
Ecuador striker Caicedo suffered pain from an old hip injury during the CSKA defeat, Couceiro said.
Russia midfielder Yanbaev missed the game with an allergy that may keep him out for the rest of the season, Couceiro said.
“He has a swollen eye and is having difficulty breathing. Yesterday and today he trained better. We’ll see,” he said.
Guilherme has missed just two of Lokomotiv’s 42 league games so far this season, and the CSKA game was his 100th competitive appearance for Lokomotiv in all competitions since signing from Brazilian team Atletico Paranaense in 2007.
