Italy's Sara Errani beat Russia's Elena Vesnina in straight sets in the final of the $220,000 Budapest Grand Prix on Saturday.
Errani, the world No. 27, prevailed 7-5, 6-4 in an hour and 45 minutes to deny the 25-year-old Vesnina, ranked 78, her first career singles title.
Vesnina is a doubles specialist, reaching the final of Wimbledon and the French Open over the last three years.
Her top singles achievement is getting to the fourth round of the Australian Open in 2006 and Wimbledon in 2009.
