To mark its 77th anniversary, the Moscow metro launched the Aquarelle train with a new exposition from the State Tretyakov Gallery. 11.05.2012, Sputnik International
The official launch of the Aquarelle train with the new exposition was held at Partizanskaya, one of the metro stations on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya (blue) line.
The metro also held a tender for the best logo for its 77th anniversary. Three emblems were chosen from almost 200. One of them will be printed on metro tickets, and its authors will be presented an invitation for a traditional evening concert held at the metro in mid-May.
The Moscow metro’s birthday is considered to be May 15, 1935. On that day service began on the first phase linking the Sokolniki and Park Kultury stations, with a branch from the Okhotny Ryad station to Smolenskaya. The total length of the line amounted to 11.2 km.
A collector’s ticket good for two rides will be issued especially for the launch of the Aquarelle train with a renewed exposition. The ticket will be sold at Moscow metro ticket offices.
