Portuguese defender Bruno Alves wants to stay at Russian champions Zenit St. Petersburg until his contract expires in 2014, he told RIA Novosti on Sunday.

Zenit clinched their second straight Russian Premier League title with three games to spare after a 2-1 victory over Dynamo Moscow last month.

“My contract will run for two more years and I hope to stay at Zenit,” Alves said.

“Everything’s going well for me here, I've become a double national champion.”

Alves is likely to be named in the Portugal squad for Euro 2012 and would love to play against a Russia side containing Zenit teammates such as Andrei Arshavin and Roman Shirokov, he told RIA Novosti last month.

Bruno Alves, 30, moved to Zenit from Porto in 2010 for a reported 22 million euros.

He has made 54 competitive appearances for Zenit in the course of two seasons and has also scored five times for Portugal on his way to winning 48 caps.
