Some hundred people organized on Sunday in the center of Brussels a flashmob protest against NATO summit, which opens today in Chicago, local media reported.
Protesters gathered in front of the Brussels Stock Exchange holding flags of the countries that are not members of NATO and not participating in the summit.
“Thus the participants condemned militant policy of NATO and the fact that only 28 of the Western countries will determine the world's geo-strategic policy,” Mario Franssen, a spokesperson for Intal group that organized the flashmob said.
According to him, “under the veil of human rights NATO threatens, destroys and degrades the weakest.”
Heads of state, defense ministers and foreign ministers from more than 50 countries including NATO and its allies will gather on Sunday for a two-day summit meeting in Chicago.
