Chelsea Flower Show to Celebrate Anniversary of Elizabeth II’s Reign

This year, the annual Chelsea Flower Show, like many other events in Great Britain, is dedicated to the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. 22.05.2012, Sputnik International
The theme for the 2012 Chelsea Florist of the Year competition is Diamonds are Forever, and young florists have been asked to design and create a flower chandelier to be hung at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee dinner.
British florists gave Elizabeth II several new flower species, including two roses. Photo: Royal Jubilee pink rose grown at David Austin Roses Nursery in Wolverhampton. The rose’s fragrance, specialists say, resembles that of black currant tea.
Last year, the British Plant Nursery Guide created a Royal Wedding stand for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding. This year’s composition is dedicated to the royal grandmother. Even the license plate numbers on the Morris Minor are jubilee related.
Tregothnan is known for producing the only tea in Cornwall, in the UK’s only sub-tropical climate. They presented specially designed tea packets with the Union Jack and a huge teapot made of pressed tea of different varieties.
