Police in Germany arrested a 14-year-old teenager, who on Wednesday opened fire at his school in Memmingen in the southern region of Bavaria, Germany’s N-24 television channel reported.
The boy was arrested after a dense stand-off with police as he hid at a sports ground threatening policemen with one gun and holding another to his head saying that he would take his own life.
There are no reports of casualties in the incident but several gun shots were fired at police officers.
The channel reported that the teenager took the guns that belonged to his father and a day earlier he quarreled with his classmates.
In March of 2009, a heavily armed teenage gunman went on a shooting spree at a secondary school in southwest Germany, leaving at least 15 people dead, and then shot himself after being cornered by police.
