Russia coach Dick Advocaat on Friday announced his final 23-man squad for Euro 2012, dropping Spartak Moscow striker Artem Dzyuba and uncapped defender Magomed Ozdoev.

Advocaat announced a 26-man provisional squad last week, but the withdrawal of Lokomotiv Moscow right-back Roman Shishkin and CSKA Moscow defender Vasily Berezutsky through injury meant he only had to make one more cut.

The defensive crisis has forced Advocaat to call in CSKA's uncapped right-back Kirill Nababkin as cover, and the Dutchman opted to sacrifice Dzyuba and Ozdoev to make the 23-man maximum.

"Two players will not join us in the squad, that's Dzyuba and Ozdoev. That's not to do with how they play, it's the balance of the squad."

Dzyuba has one cap for Russia, playing 45 minutes against Greece in November.

Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Ozdoev, 20, had been a surprise call-up to the squad.

Nababkin, 25, has played 47 times for CSKA since joining from now-dissolved FC Moscow in 2010. He has ten appearances for the under-21 national side.

It also means another surprise inclusion to the squad, Sporting Lisbon's Marat Izmailov, did enough to retain his place after Friday's 1-1 draw against Uruguay.

Russia will play Lithuania and Italy in two further warm-up games, both in Switzerland, before traveling to Poland for their Euro 2012 group stage matches.

Russia start their campaign June 8 against the Czech Republic in Wroclaw before traveling to Warsaw to face co-host Poland on June 12 and Greece four days later.

Goalkeepers: Igor Akinfeev (CSKA); Vyacheslav Malafeev (Zenit), Anton Shunin (Dynamo Moscow)
