Mikhail Youzhny beat Robin Haase of the Netherlands on Thursday to make the third round of the French Open.
Youzhny, seeded 27, broke down Haase's resistance in three sets to win 6-3, 7-6(5), 6-4 in 2 hours, 25 minutes.
The Russian, who outhit Haase with 53 winners to the Dutchman's 24, faces Spain's world No. 6 David Ferrer in the next round.
