Former Portland Trail Blazer Sergei Monia has signed a three-year extension with the Moscow suburb basketball team BC Khimki, he said Saturday.
The 29-year-old guard, who also spent half a season at the Sacramento Kings, joined Khimki in 2010 after returning from the NBA in 2006 to play for Dynamo Moscow.
"I am staying at Khimki, I signed a new contract for three years," Monia said.
BC Khimki won the second-tier Eurocup last month, defeating Valencia 77-68 in the final to give the team a place in next season's top-tier Euroleague.
Monia is a 2007 European champion with Russia.
