Latvia has won football’s Baltic Cup for the first time in four years after beating Finland in the final 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time Sunday.

Forward Vladislavs Kozlovs struck the winning sudden-death penalty after Finnish midfielder Toni Kolehmainen saw his effort saved by Andris Vanins.

Kolehmainen had put Finland ahead on 51 minutes before Edgars Gauracs equalized three minutes later.

The tournament took place in Voru, Estonia, with Lithuania set to take on the hosts later Sunday in the third-place playoff match.

Latvia beat Lithuania 5-0 in the semifinal, while Finland saw off Estonia 2-1 despite having defender Alexander Ring sent off in first-half stoppage time.

It is Latvia's 11th Baltic Cup title since its inception in 1928. Finland was competing for the first time this year.
