Dutch forward Dirk Kuyt has left Liverpool to join Fenerbahce, the Turkish side announced Sunday.

Dutch forward Dirk Kuyt has left Liverpool to join Fenerbahce, the Turkish side announced Sunday.

Kuyt, 31, was just three appearances from 200 for the Reds, scoring 51 times since joining in 2006 from Feyenoord.

"Dutch player Dirk Kuyt signed a three year contract," a statement on Fenerbahce's website said.

His one piece of silverware was this year's league cup, which he helped secure by scoring in extra time and then in the penalty shootout in February's final against Cardiff City.

Kuyt hopes to add to his 24 goals in 84 appearances for the Netherlands at Euro 2012.

Fenerbahce finished second in the Turkish Super Lig this year but are yet to have their Champions League spot approved by the country's football federation.

The club was deprieved of the right to play in the 2011-2012 toutnament due to a match fixing scandal.
