Miodrag Bozovic has stepped down as coach of Russian Premier League side Amkar Perm, the Siberian club said Monday.
The 43-year-old Montenegrin took over in September in an appointment aimed at halting the club's downward spiral, and largely succeeded, taking them from relegation candidates to a tenth-place finish.
"Today, the club has terminated the contract of the head coach Miodrag Bozovic at his own request," a statement said.
It was Bozovic's second stint at Amkar, taking them in 2008 to a historic high of fourth place and a Europa League berth.
In between he coached FC Moscow before the club was dissolved, and Dynamo Moscow.
There was no word on a successor.
