Bioinformaticist Robert MacCallum of Imperial College London and his colleagues created a computer program to study the musical equivalent of evolution in the natural world.
The program dubbed DarwinTunes can transform randomly generated sounds into pleasing melodies, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences reported.
