The strawberries are picked in the morning: the garden strawberries ripen overnight and the next day if they are not collected they will start to go bad.
Unlike store-bought strawberries which keep for several days, garden strawberries must be eaten the same day, which is why all those picked go straight on sale in Moscow and the Moscow region.
