Trudie Styler, the producer of a number of Guy Ritchie films, and The Kids Are All Right producer Celine Rattray are teaming up to produce a new film about Rudolph Nureyev, Variety.com reported on Monday.
The Maven Pictures film will be a screen version of the book Dancer by Irish writer Colum McCann, depicting the story of Russian dancer Nureyev from his first steps on Russia’s ballet stage to his triumph in Europe. Nureyev died in 1992.
“It's a moving tale - one that really fits with Maven's commitment to stories with riveting characters,” Styler and Rattray said.
Styler and Rattray established Maven Pictures last year. Currently it has two movies in post-production.
