A gunman broke into a kindergarten hosting a summer camp near Paris on Tuesday and took hostages, who were released only a few hours later, French media reported.
The attack occurred at about 7 am local time (05:00 GMT) in the village of Vitry-sur-Seine in the south-eastern suburbs of Paris. Four children were among the hostages.
The siege ended at around 11:30 am (09:30 GMT), after a parent of one of the children, who was also among the hostages, persuaded the gunmen to release them.
The attacker was then arrested by police.
No one was reported hurt.
