At least four people were killed and over three million were subjected to damages after heavy rainstorms hit the east of China this week, Xinhua news agency reportedon Saturday.
According to the agency, rainstorms particularly affected the province of Shandong forcing over 100,000 people out of their houses and killing livestock and crops.
A spokesman with the Shandong Department of Civil affairs said the total damage inflicted by the natural disaster currently stays at over $1.5 billion, but the figure may grow further.
Last year over 189,000 residents of Chinese southern island province of Hainan have been evacuated as tropical storm Nock-Ten hit the coastal region, inflicting damages to the infrastructure.
