In May, at the Sadgorod Private Zoo in Vladivostok a pair of wolves had a litter of five cubs, but the mother rejected them so the youngsters had to be fed by hand. As part of an experiment, workers at the zoo placed the cubs with a Dalmatian called Ryba (Fish).

Ryba was more than happy to adopt the cubs even though she had never been a mother. As a result, Ryba took one of the wolf cubs under her wing – a female called Rapunzel.
