The Lithuanian military denied on Tuesday that a small airplane illegally traveled over the Baltic county en route from Sweden to Belarus to parachute a small army of teddy bears.

"We didn't register anything," Lithuanian Minister of National Defense Rasa Jukneviciene told Belarussian opposition news website Charter97.org when asked about the plane.

Two employees of Studio Total, a Swedish PR company, claimed earlier this month to have flown unobstructed to Belarus, where they rained some 800 teddy bears that were holding slogans promoting democracy and slamming the authoritarian Belarusian government.

The Swedes posted a video to prove their exploits, and photos of teddy bears appeared online. However, Belarusian officials denied the story, calling it a provocation possibly sponsored by Western secret services.

Nevertheless, a Belarusian photographer, who uploaded the photos, was arrested by Belarusian KGB and is currently in custody on charges of aiding an illegal crossing of the country's border.
