Russian freestyle wrestler Abdusalam Gadisov won't be satisfied by anything less than winning Olympic gold in London, he told R-Sport on Sunday.
Gadisov, 23, is the reigning Russian and European champion in 96-kilogram category, will be competing at his first Olympics.
"I am not embarrassed by the fact that I am expected to get only the gold, I am expecting exactly the same from myself as well." Gadisov said.
"That's why any other result will be a defeat."
Gadisov is ready to face his biggest rivals, 2011 world champion Reza Yazdani of Iran and reigning Olympic champion Khetag Gazyumov of Azerbaijan.
"I've met them, know their wrestling and I've won against them," Gadisov.
"So Only the carpet will show everything - no one is looking on the titles now. The result will depend on who approached the Olympics in what shape, who has better prepared psychologically, who was more ready to win."
Russia will be vying for medals in 25 of 37 disciplines at the Games, which start Friday.
The freestyle wrestling events will take place from August 10 through 12.
