LONDON, July 25 (RIA Novosti) - Russian pentathlete and gold medal favorite Alexander Lesun is ice cool ahead of the Olympics despite making his debut on sport's highest stage.
Lesun, 24, won the gold in the Modern Pentathlon World Cup Series held in Rome in May, and makes up a fearsome Russian challenge in London with Alexei Moiseev, a gold medalist in the individual event in Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008.
"I have never competed in the Olympics, so I don't know what to prepare for," he said, insisting that was a good thing. "So I have no worries."
Lesson added that he experienced no emotion when he learned that he will go to the Olympic Games.
"I felt more responsible. Of course I was happy that I had done my job well, but no more than that."
Competitions in the modern pentathlon will be held on August 11-12.
The London Olympics kick off on July 27.
