Russia's Misha Aloyan took the Olympic bronze medal in flyweight boxing on Friday after a shock semifinal defeat to Mongolia's Tugstsogt Nyambayar.
The world and European champion and No. 1 seed was out-fought 15 points to 11 by Nyambayar, a former world silver medalist.
Michael Conlan of Ireland, the sixth seed, also suffered a surprise defeat to Cuba's Robeisy Ramirez Carrazana for the division's other bronze.
The final score was 20-10.
Nyambayar and Carrazana meet in Saturday's gold medal match.
