The United States thrashed France 86-50 to win the Olympic title in the women’s basketball final on Saturday, extending the Americans' gold medal-winning streak to five.
After showing some stiff resistance in the first quarter, France quickly ran out of steam and was 12 points behind by the end of the second quarter, never recovering.
Candace Parker top-scored for the U.S., racking up 21 points.
Sandrine Gruda and Edwige Lawson-Wade were the top scorers for France with 12 points each.
Earlier in the day, Australia stunned Russia 83-74 to win bronze.
The United States has won every gold medal since Atlanta 1996.
