Russian President Vladimir Putin will on Thursday meet with regional ombudsmen to discuss human rights protection, the Kremlin reported.
“Human rights ombudsmen from over 60 regions will attend the meeting,” the Kremlin said. “Protection of citizens’ social and labor rights, justice, freedom of conscience and belief are on the agenda.”
The president voiced his decision to hold the meeting when he met with Russian human rights commissioner Vladimir Lukin in late June.
