A Moscow police officer has been detained with almost one kilogram of cocaine, the Interior Ministry said on Saturday.
A senior sergeant from a juvenile delinquency department, whose name was not disclosed, was detained on Friday afternoon when he was off duty and in civilian clothes, the ministry said.
“A total of 995.86 grams of cocaine was found on him,” the ministry press service said, adding that the officer was instantly dismissed from the force and is facing criminal charges.
His superiors will be disciplined, the service said.
