Senegal striker Moussa Konate has signed for Russian team FC Krasnodar after an impressive showing at the London Olympics, Krasnodar said Thursday.

Konate scored five goals in four games at the Olympics, including a valuable late equaliser against Britain, and had been linked to Premier League clubs West Ham, Newcastle and Fulham.

The 19-year-old striker joins from Maccabi Tel Aviv on a three-year contract after scoring 11 goals in 42 appearances in his sole season at the Israeli club.

He is the second striker from the Senegal Olympic squad to move to the southern Russian city of Krasnodar after his teammate Ibrahima Balde signed for Krasnodar's crosstown rivals FC Kuban in July.

Krasnodar are 10th in the Russian Premier League after five games and next face Amkar Perm on Sunday.
