Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc plans to open five new hotels in Russia by 2015, the company said on Thursday.
Russia is among the most rapidly developing markets of entry tourism and is of particular interest for the company, Starwood CEO Fritz Van Paasschen said.
Starwood plans to open a second Sheraton Hotel in Moscow, Sheraton Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, in 2013. The 10-storey hotel will become part of the Skypoint business park located 800 meters from the Sheremetyevo international airport terminal.
In addition, Starwood plans to launch Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Kaluga in central Russia and Sheraton Hotel in Rostov-on-Don in south Russia in 2014 and open Sheraton Hotel in Perm in the Urals in 2015.
Also in 2015, the company plans to launch Russia’s first hotel under the Aloft Hotels brand in St. Petersburg.
