A young woman from Tatarstan who posted on the internet an intimate video of her former male partner to force him to marry her is facing criminal charges, the republic’s Investigative Directorate said on Thursday.
The 28-year-old woman has been charged under the violation of privacy statute but pled not guilty. She is looking at up to a year of community service if convicted.
She posted the video on a social network under an assumed name. When she was confronted by her ex she said she would only remove the footage after he married her.
The man, 43, turned to the police.
