Beninese midfielder Stephane Sessegnon has signed for three more years with English side Sunderland, the club said Thursday.
The 28-year-old played 58 matches for Sunderland, scoring 11 goals since he moved from Paris Saint-Germain last year.
“I’m just very, very pleased Stephane has signed because he is a very talented player. We’re delighted to keep him," said manager Martin O'Neill.
Sessegnon was named Sunderland's player of the year last season.
A Benin international since 2004, he has made 69 appearances and scored eight goals for the national team.
