Russia’s Audit Chamber launched an investigation Thursday into the Russian FA’s accounts.
The investigation focuses on “the expenditure of subsidy funds from the federal budget and other sources of funding in the fitness and sports sectors,” and covers the period from 2010 to the present day, a statement on the Audit Chamber website said.
The investigation follows a parliamentary question to the Audit Chamber about the FA’s finances from Igor Lebedev, a politician who is one of the seven candidates for the vacant post of FA president.
Lebedev will be informed of developments in the investigation, the Audit Chamber said.
