St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko was among the passengers on board of the unusual train. He arrived in Veliky Novgorod to take part in celebrations of the 1,150th anniversary of the Russian state.
Russian railway authorities provided a comfortable ED4M suburban train for the project. Such trains usually serve the St. Petersburg–Vyborg and St. Petersburg-Veliky Novgorod routes.
