Zenit St. Petersburg quartet Axel Witsel, Domenico Criscito, Sergei Semak and Tomas Hubocan are likely to return from injury in time for their Champions League clash with AC Milan next Wednesday, a source in the team told R-Sport.
Zenit’s €40 million signing Witsel has been out of action since he picked up a thigh muscle injury in the 2-0 defeat to Terek Grozny, missing the 3-0 Champions League defeat to Malaga earlier this month.
Criscito has been sidelined since he injured his gastrocnemius muscle in early September, while Semak picked up a minor injury in training after the Terek clash and Hubocan overstretched a thigh muscle on international duty earlier this month.
Now they are all set to play against Milan.
“Criscito has already started to work with the main group, while others have surpassed initial expectations and are likely to help the team in the game with Milan,” the source said.
Captain Igor Denisov and striker Alexander Kerzhakov are yet to be confirmed for the Milan game after they were sent to the reserve squad last week on disciplinary grounds.
