More than 30 people were injured in a blast at a Japanese chemicals plant on Saturday, according to Japanese TV channel NHK.
According to local officials, the incident occurred at about 2 p.m. local time in the prefecture of Hyogo, where more than 10 firefighting teams have been dispatched.
There were no reports available about the cause or environmental consequences of the blast.
The plant produces acrylic acid and superabsorbent polymers.
