A delegation of the U.S. Coast Guard’s 17th District has arrived in the Russian Far Eastern Chukotka Autonomous Area on the eponymous peninsula, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) Coast Guard reported.
“The U.S. Coast Guard delegation led by Commander, Rear Admiral Thomas Ostebo and a delegation of officers from the FSB’s Northeastern border department led by Lt. Gen. Rafael Dayerbayev will hold a number of working meetings in the area’s capital of Anadyr,” the Russian Coast Guard said.
The sides will discuss the fight against illegal fishing, sum up their joint activity in 2012 and sign a cooperation plan for 2013.
