Spanish rider Joaquim Rodriguez told R-Sport on Tuesday he is considering taking part in next year's Tour de France.
Rodriguez is enjoying the best season of his career after finishing second at the Giro d’Italia and third at the Vuelta a Espana.
The 33 year old has participated in the flagship Tour de France only once, in 2007 when he finished seventh in the general classification.
“I’m eagerly awaiting the new Tour de France route to study it, with a view to taking part in it, of course, if Katusha’s management will make the corresponding decision,” the Spaniard said.
The Russian team decided not to register Rodriguez for the Tour de France this year in order to prepare him better for another Grand Tour, the Vuelta a Espana.
The racer, known in the peleton as "El Purito," attended the ceremony of Giro d’Italia route presentation on Sunday, and called the final week especially tough with a long individual time trial on the eighth stage.
Rodriguez still has to be confirmed by the team for the Giro.
