Portugal may be without Raul Meireles when they face Russia in a World Cup qualifier Friday after the Fenerbahce midfielder hurt his thigh in training, coach Paulo Bento said Thursday.
Meireles limped off during training Thursday at Moscow's Luzhniki stadium, the venue for the clash between the favorites in Group F.
"During training, Meireles picked up a leg injury, he has a thigh problem," Bento said.
"It's not yet clear how serious the injury is. We still don't know if he will be able to take part in the match. We have 24 hours to decide."
Bento added that the Real Madrid duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe had taken a full part in the whole training session for the first time this week.
Ronaldo hurt his shoulder after scoring both of Real Madrid's goals in their 2-2 draw with Barcelona on Saturday, while Pepe has been struggling with a thigh problem.
